Faculty/Department Faculty of Education Unit Education-Other Employee Group CUPE 2419 CUPE 5791 Job Family Category Student Number of Vacancies 1 Position Summary
The successful applicant will provide support to the course instructor to ensure successful delivery of the EPSY 401 course content and to foster a safe and positive learning environment. The successful applicate will be familiar with online instruction and use of web-based platforms. The applicant must be able to collaborate and respond to various learning styles among candidates.
Duties may include:
- Assisting instructor with delivery of course content through UR Courses
- Leading projects and assist in developing activities on UR Courses for group activities (setting up Workshops for peer presentations and assessment, collating data from peer presentations, collating assessment details)
- Collaborating with instructor and monitoring engagement of candidates
- Assisting candidates with questions and supporting assignment clarification and potentially developing exemplars/modelling for candidates to review how to approach assignments.
- Preparing assessment material for UR Courses site
- Grading assignments and providing feedback to candidates
- Assisting with attendance and monitoring progress by reviewing gradebook
- Conferencing with candidates in breakout rooms during online meetings
- Supporting candidates in use of UR Courses
- Duties as discussed with instructor through duration of the course
Position Requirements
The successful applicant will:
- Be a current graduate or postgraduate student in the Faculty of Education, UofR
- Completion of the Inclusive Education Certificate
- Be experienced and well versed in use of technology and instructional design through an online platform
- Experience in developing online learning activities for diverse learners using the principles of UDL
