Position Description:
The part-time Leasing Agent supports the Resident Manager with a variety of building administration tasks such as screening applications, scheduling showings, and delivering exceptional customer service to both existing and prospective residents. The Leasing Agent will work both independently and within a team-setting, responding to inquiries, maintaining records in Yardi, and assisting residents with RentCafe while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
Customer Service

  • Greet and interact with residents and prospects in a friendly and professional manner
  • Promote a welcoming atmosphere
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and a "can-do" attitude
  • Assisting residents with submitting maintenance requests through the proper channels
  • Attend to resident concerns and service requests within 24 hours
  • Follow up with residents to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Handle office administrative tasks, such as processing online applications, creating notices, managing lease renewals, and other duties related to support daily operations
  • Organize, promote and execute resident events (i.e. holiday parties and summer barbeques)

Leasing & Administration

  • Schedule property showings with prospects
  • Process leasing applications including completion of background and credit checks
  • Ensure rents are collected and deposited on a timely basis
  • Negotiate lease renewals in conjunction with established targets
  • Utilize Yardi to record transactions and run various operating reports
  • Conduct market surveys and analyze how the property compares to the current market
  • Recommend leasing rates and in-suite turnover work to the District Manager
  • Actively promote various referral programs to existing residents and prospects

Qualifications

  • Background in residential property management or related business experience (leasing apartments, selling condominiums and office administration)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good working knowledge and ability to use computer software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Yardi and RentCafe
  • Maintain a professional/presentable appearance
