The Developmental Disabilities Association has been enabling people with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential with expertise, integrity, respect, and conviction for over 60 years. We are a dynamic community living agency that provides over 50 community‐based programs and services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families in the Vancouver and Richmond areas. Job Title: Accountant 1 | #2032

Service Area: Accounting

Location: Richmond, BC

Start Date: As soon as possible

Term/Status: Permanent Full Time

Schedule/Hours: Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri 8:00 - 16:00 // 37.5 hours per week

Hourly Wage: $30.18 as per collective agreement

The Role:

This position assists in the smooth and efficient operation of the accounting department. The Accountant 1 performs accounting duties such as processing accounts receivable, accounts payable and reconciling general ledger.

Requirements/Education/Experience:

  • Completed 2 years of post-secondary courses in areas such as bookkeeping, accounting or business administration.
  • Accurate and efficient filing and data entry skills.
  • Experience in social service field desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years accounting experience in a computerized environment.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with SAGE ERP (ACCPAC/SAGE 300) Excel and Word.
  • Proven analytical skills and communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Demonstrated competency in English
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • This position requires union membership
