The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Intermediate/Senior Network Engineer with strong hands-on experience in network design, troubleshooting, and support. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in solving complex problems and supporting diverse environments.
You’ll join our network team, working with clients in sectors like:
- Mining
- Transportation
- Education
- Construction
This is a hands-on-keyboard role. You must bring depth in enterprise networking, client engagement, and technical execution.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Deployment
- Architect, configure, and maintain routing protocols
- Deploy networking hardware (Cisco, Unifi, Proofpoint, WatchGuard)
- Set up secure VPNs, load balancers, firewalls
Performance & Security
- Optimize performance and reliability across the network
- Apply security best practices: firewall rules, IDS/IPS, access control
Support & Troubleshooting
- Triage and resolve escalated Tier 2/Tier 3 issues
- Manage and respond to on-site and remote support cases
- Use Kaseya tools for patching, monitoring, and endpoint management
- Maintain documentation in AutoTask
Collaboration & Training
- Work with vendors and service providers
- Coordinate network / server upgrades and deployments
- Move from on-prem to cloud solutions
- Share knowledge with peers and clients through training and documentation
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years in a Intermediate/Senior Network Engineer or Network Administrator role
- Hands-on experience in SMB network environments
- Expertise in Cisco, Watchguard, Unifi technologies
- Experience with Kaseya tools
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Strong client communication skills
- Comfortable working onsite and travelling locally
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 year diploma from NAIT, SAIT, or similar
- Microsoft, CompTIA, or Cisco certifications
- Wireless deployment/configuration experience
- Familiarity with Hyper-V, cybersecurity platforms, and backup solutions
- Understanding of business operations and how IT supports them
