About the role
Who you are
- 8+ years of product design experience, with 2+ years leading and growing design teams
- A portfolio showcasing strong craft, systems thinking, and business impact
- Experience with large-scale consumer-facing products, ideally in acquisition, onboarding, or e-commerce
- Comfort working in fast-paced, experiment-heavy environments
- Deep fluency with Figma and design system practices
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills
- Familiarity with A/B testing, analytics tools, and rapid prototyping
- Knowledge of CRM, marketing tech, or personalization strategies
- This is a hybrid position and requires the ability to work from our office in either Boston, MA or Toronto, ON
What the job involves
- Our Product Design/UX teams partner with Engineering, Product Management, Analytics, and business leaders across Wayfair to ensure we're building technology that solves important customer problems in elegant, scalable, and measurable ways
- Customer Technology, our consumer-facing technology team, is tackling a wide array of fascinating, incredibly difficult problems—like helping a massive, rapidly growing global customer base efficiently find the perfect products from our catalog of over 14 million items (with the majority of traffic on mobile), and leveraging AI to help customers visualize products in their space
- Lead Design Strategy, communicating a clear vision for customer acquisition and engagement experiences across mobile, web, and app
- Manage and Mentor a small, high-impact team of 4 product designers, fostering a culture of creativity, inclusion, and experimentation
- Drive Hands-on Execution on key initiatives, including:
- Enhancements to landing experiences and inspiration-first surfaces
- GenAI-powered discovery and curation tools
- Scalable frameworks for modular, personalized content
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally with PMs, engineers, marketers, and analysts to build seamless, user-centered experiences
- Champion Experimentation, using data, testing, and iteration to move fast and learn quickly
- Elevate UX Quality through systems thinking, accessibility, and polish—while helping shape broader design standards across Wayfair
