Who are we looking for?
GHD has an outstanding opportunity for a Project Coordinator in our Land Development Group in Ontario, with the option to work from our Mississauga , Whitby , Markham , Waterloo or Ottawa offices in a hybrid arrangement. We are looking for a Project Coordinator who can carry out public relations activities that facilitate communication of the organization's message to internal and external publics. Analyze information to draft articles, press releases, and internal and external communications, including management speeches and parts of annual reports as outlined by others. Serve as a liaison with PR agencies, news agencies, event organizers, etc., with the aim of monitoring compliance with timetable and budget parameters. Assist in planning projects. Possess sound experience and carry out projects with little direction and with periodic review of progress and results.

Responsibilities
- Public/Government Relations Campaign Management: Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers; act as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract to deliver successful public relations and government relations campaigns.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
- Public/Government Relations Campaign Execution: Execute a public relations, government relations, regulation, and registration plan for a particular product, service, or specialty area while working within established systems.
- Content Creation: Write drafts and edit content in line with organizational style guidelines to format and publish information on websites and in print.
- Document Preparation: Organize and prepare complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for special reports.
- Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
- Public/Government Relations Campaign Planning: Contribute to the development of the planning of tactical public relations campaign.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Assist with stakeholder engagement by arranging actions, meetings, events, and supporting materials to promote stakeholder understanding and commitment.
- Operational Compliance: Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Internal Communications: Help others get the most out of internal communications systems by offering support and advice.
- External Communications: Help others get the most out of external communications systems by offering support and advice.
Education
- Post-secondary (college/university) civil engineering education.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or CET designation or relevant experience to pursue these designations is considered an asset.
Experience
- General Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in design and management of land development projects.
- Managerial Experience: Experience working in an engineering team pursuing land development applications such as rezoning, draft plan of subdivision or site plan. Experience designing municipal services or stormwater management facilities to support a land development application in Ontario.
- Strong technical understanding of the core land development design and approval process
- Strong analytical and report writing skills
- Working knowledge of the Planning Act and development application processes in Ontario
- Detail oriented.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to lead by example and mentor junior staff.
- Ability to simultaneously coordinate multiple projects.
- Challenge driven and supportive of a team environment.
