SUMMER STUDENT – FINANCIAL SERVICES

We are accepting applications for the following Summer Student – Financial Services position at the Education Centre in Seaforth, Ontario.
Hours of Work: 35hours per week, 7 hours per day
Employment Start Date : As soon as possibleto August 22, 2025
Compensation Package Details
Rate of Pay : $17.20 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
Pension Plan : Eligible to elect to access a defined pension plan through the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS).
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through TELUS which includes:
- 24/7 confidential support
- Access to information on personal fitness, nutrition, career, financial and legal advice; relationship & family support, and overall wellbeing resources.
Reports to: Financial Services Manager
Summary: The Summer Student – Financial Services will provide support to the business operations of the Avon Maitland District School Board (the “Board”) including Financial Services, Procurement, Transportation, Human Resources, IT, and Facilities. The successful candidate will provide daily support and lead small projects as assigned. The student may also work with academic departments within the Board to support the creation, printing, organization, collation, and distribution of learning materials and other resources.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Enthusiasm and readiness to learn
- Highly organized independent worker with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel)
- Solid interpersonal skills
Qualifications:
- A valid driver's license and vehicle is required for this position
- The successful candidate will be enrolled in a secondary or post secondary school and be between the ages of 15 and 24.
Note - A criminal background check will be part of the recruitment process.
