Position Summary: We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Grounds Crew Member to join our maintenance team with a focus on tree and hill and trail maintenance. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our outdoor spaces by removing fallen trees, limbs, and brush, as well as supporting general grounds maintenance tasks. This role has the opportunity to transition into a year round position that includes Snowmaking and equipment operation in the Winter.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform tree clean-up including the removal of fallen trees, broken branches, and debris caused by weather or scheduled pruning
- Operate chainsaws, wood chippers, pole saws, and other tree care equipment safely and effectively
- Load and haul tree debris and wood using utility vehicles or trailers
- Assist with routine grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, raking, and landscaping
- Maintain clean and safe walking and vehicle paths by clearing debris from roads, pathways, and common areas
- Inspect and report damaged trees or hazardous conditions to supervisor
- Follow all company safety policies and wear proper PPE at all times
- Support other departments with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, special event set-up, or general landscaping
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or tree work preferred
- Ability to operate chainsaws and landscaping tools safely (training provided if needed)
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials (50+ lbs), bend, kneel, and work on uneven ground
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork attitude
- Valid driver’s license an asset
- Certification in chainsaw safety or arborist training is a plus
