About the role
We are currently seeking fun, energetic staff to join our summer team at camp. Ideal candidates will be current high school or post-secondary students available for our entire summer camp season (June 26th-August 22nd), and have experience working with children. Day camp sessions run Monday to Friday from 9:00am-4:00pm. Transportation on the camp bus from Richmond Hill/Maple/Vaughan/Thornhill/Woodbridge may be available.

DAY CAMP COUNSELLORS
Kettleby Valley is looking for highly responsible leaders and role models who are at least 17+ by Dec.31 2025. Our day camp counsellors are required to build connections with and among their campers and have a positive influence on them throughout their camp experience. Working with children in the past is not essential but is a great asset. Being a leader and role model to youth is an important responsibility, and this position will provide you with valuable experience and skills which will help to advance your resume and career goals. Activities such as Rock Climbing, Canoeing, Archery, Paintball, and Arts and Crafts add to the fun and enjoyment of the job. Counsellors are paid a set salary of $2000-2600/month.
The Camp
Kettleby Valley is a traditional summer camp, offering both day and overnight camp programs in the heart of York Region. We host approximately 240 day and 100 overnight campers each week throughout July and August. We are situated on 60 private acres with forests, fields and waterfront. Our goal is to create unique outdoor experiences for campers and staff while developing resilience, confidence, and a healthy sense of independence. Each year, we bring together a team from near and abroad to deliver our highly sought after program. Kettleby Valley is large enough to have the energy and enthusiasm to make kids feel like they’re part of something special, yet small enough to be able maintain a sense of community.
Candidates must be available Monday to Friday from June 30-Aug 22, with the exception of Aug 4. There will be a mandatory staff training June 26-28.

Pay: $2,000.00-$2,600.00 per month

Located in the heart of York Region, we offer Traditional Summer Day Camp and Overnight summer camp programs within 15 minutes of Newmarket, Aurora, Richmond Hill, Woodbridge, Maple and Vaughan. Working at any of our summer camp jobs at Kettleby Valley is a highly rewarding experience. There are fewer things more gratifying than connecting with campers and helping them develop their confidence and independence.
As part of a team, everyone is supported and given the opportunity to grow. An in-depth training program takes place prior to the summer. We also support staff members who require specialized training and certifications for their roles at camp.
The summer camp jobs we have available include counsellors, swim instructors, kitchen staff, activity specialists and section directors. Candidates can apply for day camp or residential summer camp jobs at Kettleby Valley.
