About the Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled and multi-talented Senior Videographer & Podcast Producer to lead a small team in the creation of premium short and long-form video and audio content across the digital and social platforms at SJC Media, including brands like Toronto Life, Maclean’s, Chatelaine, FASHION, Hello! Canada and Canadian Business. You’ll bring sharp storytelling instincts, incredible editing skills, a keen eye for visuals, and a growth mindset to help us quickly scale and diversify our video/audio content portfolios across our brands at SJC Media.
This is a hands-on creative production role ideal for someone with experience producing standout multi-platform video and audio content for media brands, lifestyle companies, or high-performing influencers or agencies. You must be fluent in social video formats, publishing, and multimedia content production; from pre-production, scripting, shooting, audio, editing to publishing. You should also be experienced and eager to leverage new technologies and AI tools to enhance efficiency, growth, and creativity across your workflows.
What You’ll Do
Video
-
Concept, script, shoot, and edit
short-form videos
(Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, etc.) -
Work with brand social leads to deliver social video strategies tailored to each brand.

Collaborate with editorial, digital and social teams to align on tone, format, and distribution strategies

Manage video shoots independently or with a team; direct talent on and off camera

Use
AI-driven tools
to accelerate production and elevate storytelling -
Track video performance and optimize content based on audience insights and brand goals

Work with external production partners and freelancers when required.
️ Podcasts

Produce and edit
high-quality podcast episodes
(narrative and/or conversational formats) -
Manage budgets, and coordinate with external talent, freelancers in addition to hosts, guests, and stakeholders to manage production timelines

Handle
audio recording, editing, mixing, and publishing -
Recommend creative segment ideas and editorial enhancements

Ensure podcasts align with brand voice, audience interests, and distribution best practices
What You Bring
You are a highly creative professional, with significant experience in the lifestyle media space with the ability to develop content through the entire production process. You are a pop culture junkie with passions for digital and modern storytelling from high to low-fi formats.

8+ years of experience in digital and social video production, with a strong portfolio of
short-form and social-first content -
Demonstrated
podcast production experience
(either branded, editorial, or original series) -
Full-stack creator: you can
script, shoot, edit, and produce
end-to-end -
Experience leading a team as well as large scale productions

Proficiency with Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, After Effects, Descript, or similar tools

Strong familiarity with
AI content tools
(e.g. Runway, Pika, ElevenLabs, Riverside, Descript) -
A sharp editorial sense, attention to detail, and an ability to hit tight deadlines

Deep understanding of what drives
video and audio performance
across platforms
