Seasonal Team Lead (Butterfly Conservatory)
Niagara Parks is currently recruiting for Seasonal Team Lead's to join our Retail & Attractions team for the 2025 season.
This position compensates at a rate of $24.84/hr for Seasonal Bargaining Unit and Part-Time employees.

Seasonal Bargaining Unit and Part Time Employees Specific:
- Additional $1.55/hr for each hour worked in lieu of benefits (seasonal bargaining unit only);
- Eligible to enroll the company defined benefit pension plan.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent knowledge or experience.
- Knowledge of point-of-sale systems, cash procedures; and identification of counterfeit money.
- Proven ability to oversee staff for purpose of responding to emergent issues and coaching.
- Strong guest services service recovery skills and strong Supervisory and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in Retail/Attractions or Heritage, as required by position.
KEY ACTIVITIES:
Supervisory (subject to location)
- Supervises employees and provides break relief.
- Coaches and trains student staff including onsite orientation including but not limited to selling procedures, a la carte tickets, attraction packages, time ticketing, reservations, etc.
- Supervises daily cash transactions including floats, imprest funds, daily change orders and cash audits.
- Opens and closes locations, makes up floats for staff, does change orders and imprest, as applicable.
- Processes all voids and refunds and performs reconciliations where and as required for staff.
- Ensures staff maintain ticket office supplies if applicable.
- In conjunction with the Department Manager or Designate, oversees and designates staff to the attractions, including, but not limited to: car loading, line management, elevator operation, attraction control operations and historical interpretation delivery of historical sites, if applicable.
- Assists in overseeing and participating in price changes, maintaining inventory and ordering from the Distribution Centre.
- Acts as a liaison to the Department Manager or Designate of any immediate issues occurring (e.g., potential shoplifter, any emergency, potential issue with a guest, etc.).
- Responsible for the coordination of visitor tours and demonstrations at historic sites in the absence of the Department Manager or Designate if applicable.
- Required to participate in outreach events, commemorations, VIP tours and special events as applicable.
- Adheres to and ensures employees work in compliance with the Occupation Health and Safety Act, First Aid, WHMIS, established policies and procedures, and are provided with the required training.
Administration
- Balance’s credit/debit transactions on the Moneris system.
- Fill out forms and reports, including incident reports, in the absence of a supervisor.
- Assist with yearly inventory counts.
Performs Other Related Duties
- Assists with various duties, to ensure location clean and merchandized.
- Promotes a positive image of the Niagara Parks Commission.
- Provides quality customer service that meets NPC standards.
- As assigned.
