Position Overview:

This position is responsible for the field maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar engines and auxiliary equipment. This position is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical aspects of power generation equipment in the field and performing minor mechanic work on such equipment.

The successful Candidate will be based out of our Calgary Power Systems facility and will be on a Mon-Friday 5x2 shift, and will report directly to the Field Service Supervisor, Power Systems.

Job Description:

  • Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Working with the supervisor on various tasks
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
  • Minimum 3 years field HET role experience - Caterpillar preferred, however other dealership/customer experience is welcomed
  • Power Systems mechanical & power generation experience/knowledge preferred
  • Experience dealing one-on-one with customers
  • Engine overhaul experience is considered an asset
  • This position could lead to a future Dual Ticket role so power generation experience & electrical knowledge would be considered an asset
  • Completion or be in the process of completing Finning S-level courses would also be considered an asset

Note:

  • Shift work may be required
  • Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
