About the role
Responsibilities
- Daily Accounting Activities including preparation of bank deposits, matching payable invoices with packing slips and data entry,
- Matching receivable documents for receivable invoice entry, mailing/emailing, filing, collections, and managing customer requests
- Maintain and monitor company accounting records ensuring compliance with company accounting policies
- Maintain and update product configurations and costs in the ERP system, ensuring alignment with actual production data
- Prepare and post journal entries and manage working paper to ensure adequate schedules are maintained for reviews and audits.
- Preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts and ensure timely and accurate closing procedures are implemented.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and schedules
- Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy of financial records
- Assist in the semi-annual Company physical inventory count and ensure accurate records are maintained in Financial Systems
- Prepare HST Return and electronic filings
- Generate account analysis & financial reports as requested.
- Maintain Company’s information system, including training of employees.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in the Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Minimum 3 years of relevant general accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing environment
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related analysis tools
- High degree of Proficiency in MS Word, and Outlook; familiarity with oracle-based ERP software is an asset.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
