Salary Range**:** $7,863 - $10,223 Monthly
Grade**:** MCP.07.
Reporting to the Director of Design Delivery, the Design Branch of the Ministry of Highways is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent engineering, interpersonal and consultative skills to join their team in Regina, Saskatoon or Prince Albert for a one-year term as a Senior Project Manager responsible for Functional Planning.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will assist the Director in managing the evaluation, planning, and delivery of functional studies. The Senior Project Manager must assess the scope of each project, analyze the required resources and the timing of each project, and monitor implementation of project management plans necessary to safely, efficiently and effectively complete the work. You will support and act on behalf of your Director at meetings to determine provincial interests on long-term infrastructure goals and objectives, including working with internal and external stakeholders.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will provide leadership to a team comprised of Project Managers and Technicians to successfully manage project risks and quality and meet project deadlines.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the Director in managing the evaluation, planning and delivery of functional studies;
- Hiring and managing engineering consultants, project managers, and technicians to assist in project delivery;
- Requesting, verifying, and analyzing required background information;
- Ensuring consistent application of ministry standards and specifications;
- Updating project information, schedules, and costs in the project management software (e-Builder);
- Working in collaboration with the ministry’s other business units in the development and optimization of project management processes;
- Representing the ministry in dealings with private individuals, public agencies, and external stakeholders; and
- Assisting in various activities required to deliver the functional planning program.
To qualify for this position, you will be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineering Licensee with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).

This role may be staffed at an underfill level, particularly in cases where candidates have relevant education and experience, but have not yet received their Professional Engineer or Engineering Licensee requirements.
