Part-Time (0.45 FTE) for approximately nine (9) months
HOURS:
Approximately 33.75 bi-weekly hours
SHIFTS:
Days / Nights / Weekends
11.25 hours per shift

WAGE RANGE:
Scale Minimum Maximum
ONA02 $39.07/hr $56.00/hr
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures the delivery of professional nursing care by utilizing evidence based nursing practice and by:
- Establishing, providing, and evaluating clinical nursing care to patients and family
- Demonstrating critical thinking in the nursing process while collecting and interpreting data, planning, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of nursing care
- Practising to the full scope of practice of the Registered Nurse within own level of competence
- Has the knowledge, skill and judgment needed to provide competent, evidence-based nursing practice that complies with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Standards of Nursing Practice, QCH Policies and Procedures as well as the standards of care appropriate to his/her area of clinical practice.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- RN Diploma
- Current BCLS
- Fetal Health Surveillance Certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Certification, Breastfeeding and Labour Support workshops
- 3-6 months current experience in labour & delivery including antepartum, intrapartum and post partum
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to understand, interpret and carry out verbal and written instructions in the English language
- Ability to work effectively within the nursing and inter-professional team
- Demonstrated computer competency
PREFERRED:
- One year of recent experience in an acute care setting
- University Courses with Perinatal Concentration
- NRP Instructor Certification
- Lactation Consultant
- CNA Perinatal nursing certification
- Certified OR course
- Experience with clinical documentation in an Electronic Health Record
- Membership in RNAO, certifications and associations related to nursing specialty
- Experience as preceptor/mentor
