Job Description

At Fairmont Waterfront, an exceptional guest experience begins even before check-in and extends throughout every stay. As a Houseperson, the organizational support you provide to the housekeeping team will ensure our guest rooms are well equipped and welcoming – and our guests feel valued.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Director, Housekeeping responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Ensure Housekeeping departmental standards are followed
  • Maintain cleanliness of public areas, including but not limited to guest corridors, lobby, Health Club and restrooms.
  • Support the housekeeping team by removing dirty linen, and collecting garbage and recyclables from guest rooms.
  • Ensure laundry and housekeeping closets are stocked and organized.
  • Clean and maintain back-of-house areas to ensure a tidy and safe work environment.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests related to housekeeping, including delivering extra towels, bedding, or amenities.
  • Assist with the delivery and pick-up of guest items as needed.
  • Assist with deep cleaning tasks, including carpet shampooing and moving furniture.
  • Collaborate with the housekeeping team to ensure high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
  • Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
  • Assist in room turnovers, ensuring rooms are properly stocked with amenities and linens.
  • Handle lost and found items and assist with documentation and storage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager or Supervisor.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or hotel operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with guests and team members professionally.
  • Physical stamina to lift, carry, or move heavy items, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Additional Information

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization
