About the role
PurpleDOG’s Post Production Coordinator is the vital connection between the company’s team, Film Producers, and Post-Production Supervisors, fostering smooth communication and ensuring client satisfaction. They are entrusted with the support of the execution of all post production projects, from planning to scheduling, to delivery.
Reporting to the Project Manager and Operations, this role liaises across departments to ensure that schedules, assets, and communication flow smoothly. If you thrive in organized chaos, love a good spreadsheet, and have a passion for keeping creatives on track, this job is for you.
Employment: Full-time, fixed-term one-year contract with an option for renewal.
Salary: From $22.50/hr and up, based on the level of experience.
Location: On-site (not remote) at our post-production facility in Mississauga, Ontario.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep post workflows moving by coordinating, monitoring and tracking deliverables, departmental handoffs and client feedback.
- Coordinate file movement, ingest, and turnover materials between internal teams, external vendors and clients.
- Maintain and update records in project managment software.
- Assist in communicating client expectations, timelines, and technical requirements.
- Gather documentation and assets required for delivery, QC, and archival.
- Flag timeline risks and help troubleshoot workflow issues proactively.
- Support the Project Manager with the creation and maintenance of schedules and follow-ups..
- Other post-production support tasks as needed.
IMPORTANT PREREQUISITES:
- Strong familiarity with post-production workflows and terminology (offline, conform, VFX pulls, QC, etc.)
- Thorough understanding of the filmmaking process from dailies to delivery, as well as A++ knowledge of the overall post-production process, both creative and technical.
- Comprehensive expertise in each post-production department (Colour Correction, VFX, Online, Sound & Deliverables).
- Technical proficiency with video formats, codecs, frame rates, resolutions, etc.
- Understanding of Digital Cinema technology.
- Familiarity with Video Quality Control and the ability to understand and discuss issues.
- Understanding of closed captioning formats and standards.
- Expert working knowledge of Windows & Mac OS, Google Workspace apps, and the ability to quickly dissect, evaluate, and adapt to new software.

- The salary is negotiable, and we want to know your expectations.
- There is a 4-month probation period. This allows both sides to ensure the relationship is a good fit.
