Job Description

We are looking to hire a full-time licensed 310T or 310J Mobile Mechanic, who will report and be stationed at our shop in Alliston, Ontario—from Mondays to Fridays, 6:30 am to 4 pm. Our ideal candidate will be proficient with the latest diagnostic tools and technology and have experience diagnosing and repairing a wide range of commercial trucks and trailers efficiently and safely, thus contributing to the success of our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participating in an in-depth orientation and subsequent series of training and development programs and workshops, as required
  • Conducting routine inspections on trailers to identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues plus emergency repairs on both trucks and trailers in “Breakdown” situations.
  • Utilizing diagnostic equipment and tools to pinpoint and troubleshoot problems accurately
  • Identifying and ordering necessary parts and materials for maintenance and repairs.
  • Performing preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules
  • Working closely with other mechanics, technicians, and team members to coordinate tasks and share knowledge
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities
  • Documenting parts used, services performed, and any additional recommendations for future work; completing necessary paperwork for compliance purposes
  • Communicating with supervisors and other relevant departments regarding repair progress and requirements
  • Ensuring that all repairs and maintenance activities adhere to industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards
  • Keeping an organized inventory of spare parts and supplies
  • Remaining up-to-date on industry trends, technological advancements, and current best practices related to truck and trailer maintenance.

Key Qualifications

  • Must be a licensed and experienced 310T or 310J Mechanic
  • Clean driving record and a valid G license
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Solid understanding of vehicle electrical systems, engines, transmissions, and related components
  • Experience with fleet maintenance
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory requirements
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Computer literacy and disciplined organizational skills.
