What You’ll Do:
As a Plant Accountant, you'll play a vital role in keeping our fast-paced production running smoothly and efficiently. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with our production, quality, and supply chain teams, turning financial data into meaningful insights that support smart business decisions.
Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing:
Production Costing & Analysis
- Track daily production data—yields, waste, rework—and help the team understand the financial story behind the numbers.
- Analyze production efficiency and cost variances, then collaborate with leaders to take action.
- Recommend ways to reduce waste and improve processes, because every grain counts!
- Maintain accurate BOMs and ensure standard costing is on point.
Inventory Management
- Keep inventory records squeaky clean—raw materials, packaging, WIP, and finished goods.
- Lead physical and cycle counts, investigating discrepancies like a financial detective.
- Ensure food safety and traceability standards are reflected in every report.
Accounts Receivable Oversight
- Monitor customer credit and collection status—supporting timely payments without compromising relationships.
- Work with sales and finance teams to manage credit limits and resolve issues quickly and diplomatically.
Month-End Magic
- Roll up your sleeves for journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations during month-end.
- Prepare monthly reports that tell the full financial story: inventory value, production costs, plant KPIs.
- Ensure everything aligns with corporate controls and reporting standards.
Team Collaboration & Compliance
- Be the go-to finance partner for operations, procurement, and quality teams.
- Support audits with solid documentation and analysis.
- Tackle ad hoc projects and reporting requests like a pro.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years in cost or plant accounting—bonus points for food industry experience.
- Solid understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing finance.
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (Sage, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Sharp analytical thinking and excellent communication skills.
- A proactive, team-first mindset—especially in a dynamic, growing environment.
Nice-to-Haves:
- CPA or CMA designation (or in progress).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement.

Dainty offers consumer packaged rice, and flour, in all formats sizes up to full railcar or truck load. The facility has a Quality Assurance team in-house which manages Dainty food safety, being certifed Gluten-Free, SQF, Organic product offerings and much more.
