About the role
We are seeking a Senior Operations Manager for a leadership role with an established client of ours in the Mining industry. This role requires strong leadership ability with a deep understanding of mining operations, people leadership, and business performance. The Operations Manager will support the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of site operations, including production, maintenance, and support functions.

Responsibilities
- Serve as second-in-command on site. Providing strong leadership and direction across departments.
- Work closely with the General Manager to execute the site operational strategy, business plans, and production targets.
- Ensure integration and alignment across mining, milling, maintenance, technical services, HSE, and support functions.
- Champion a proactive safety culture and uphold the highest environmental and regulatory standards.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and serve as acting GM in the General Manager’s absence.
- Drive performance management processes to ensure key KPIs (safety, production, cost, compliance) are achieved or exceeded.
- Foster a high-performance culture based on accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Identify operational risks and lead cross-functional efforts to mitigate them.
- Develop future leaders by mentoring superintendents, managers, and high-potential team members.
- Collaborate with corporate functions to ensure alignment with company-wide initiatives, policies, and reporting standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or related field is a benefit.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in mining operations, including 5+ years in a senior operational leadership role.
- Start up experience is an asset.
