About the role

Great Blue Resorts owns and operates 10 private resort lakefront properties located throughout Ontario’s cottage country. These properties offer outright ownership of beautiful pre-manufactured seasonal recreational cottages. Our resorts have full facilities including community areas, swimming pools, splash pads, multi-sports courts, playgrounds and beaches.

Property Maintenance Crew Role Overview

A Great Blue Resorts Property Crew is responsible for participating in all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the Resorts facilities and maintaining the resort to a clean, safe and well-maintained standard which enhances owner and guest enjoyment. The goal is to ensure the resort facilities are well cared for and adequate to support the resorts’ business operations.

Responsibilities

The Property Crew role is to ensure the Corporate Objectives of maximizing profitability and Owner, Guest & Staff happiness of the resort, through high standards of service utilizing Survey scores and other tools. The Property Crew achieves performance excellence through Profitability, Owner & Guest Happiness, People, Property and Administration.

The Property Maintenance Crew responsibility will include but not limited to the following:

  1. Property management

a. Grounds, Gates Water supply, Electrical and Septic Systems

b. Works closely with the Development team to execute development plan.

a. Co-ordinate with siting teams, if required, to meet and exceed sales, development and new owner expectations.

b. 100% compliance with Health & Safety requirements

c. Facilities management including Beach, Boats, Marina, Docks, Multi court, Playground, Pool, Splash Pad

d. Grass Cutting, trimming

e. Maintenance of equipment

f. Keep up on owner requested billable maintenance jobs

  1. Beach maintenance

a. Pontoon boat, fishing boat maintenance and motors

b. Beach raking, chairs, toys

c. Safety Kits, life jackets

d. Boathouse maintenance

e. Dock – install, remove, numbering, safety inspections weekly, repair as required

  1. Carefree management

a. Winterizing

b. Summarizing

c. Equipment Management

d. Maintain the safety and on-going maintenance of all resort and maintenance equipment

  1. Grounds maintenance

a. Grass cutting, gardening and snow removal, within the resort

b. Perform twice daily checks of the resort during peak season to identify and rectify areas of concern.

c. Follow up to make sure all garbage receptacles are emptied daily and cleaned to reduce odors and insects.

d. Property Closing - Closing and opening of Resort

e. Roads

  1. Marina, boats and rental equipment

a. Lead marina staff to ensure all rental equipment is being checked during sign out and return and perform all necessary repairs reporting any damages to the front desk for follow up with customer.

b. Oversee fuel safety practices, measurement of main fuel tank and recording of levels for usage and re-order timing.

c. Oversee maintenance and safety of all docks, dock equipment and seaweed levels performing routine maintenance as required.

d. Maintenance of canoes, kayaks, standup paddleboards

  1. Rental Unit maintenance

a. Perform regular inspections of all seasonal rental units to confirm all water, electrical and septic systems are working properly.

b. Visually inspect exterior and interior of each unit and perform any necessary repairs.

c. Check all BBQ propane levels and overall functioning of BBQs to maximize the customer's experience.

d. Visually inspect all lawn furniture, picnic tables and fire rings to confirm cleanliness and functionality.

  1. Water supply and systems

a. Inspect and record chlorine and turbidity readings for resort water systems and report daily,

b. Water testing management as required by local Health Department

c. Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on all water pumps and visible water lines/faucets to minimize downtime. Perform cost effective repairs when necessary.

Skills/Requirements

  • Prior customer service experience considered an asset
  • Prior experience with maintenance, repairs, groundskeeping, manual labour, or related field considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must have G2 or G Drivers License
  • Comfortable working outdoors in differing weather conditions
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Must have the physical dexterity to lift upwards of 50 pounds for short periods of time.
