The Purchase Order Coordinator is responsible for supporting the procurement process by ensuring accurate and timely creation, tracking, and management of purchase orders. This role works closely with suppliers, internal departments, and the procurement team to ensure materials and services are ordered, delivered, and received as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, review, and issue purchase orders (POs) for materials, ingredients, packaging, and services in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Monitor open POs and follow up with vendors and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with accounts payable to resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of all POs, amendments, delivery confirmations, and receipts in the ERP system.
  • Support demand planning by ensuring timely PO placement based on inventory levels and production needs.
  • Communicate regularly with vendors to track order status, confirm lead times, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Assist procurement team with sourcing and price verification as required.
  • Generate reports on PO activity, delays, and vendor performance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain coordination role.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Experience with ERP systems SAP is a strong asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
