Our team is dedicated to helping our clients meet environmental compliance standards through safe, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support our finance team in maintaining accurate and efficient financial operations.
Position Overview:
The Accounting Clerk will support day-to-day accounting operations, including processing invoices, high level data entry, and maintaining administration operations. The ideal candidate has a background in accounting or bookkeeping—experience in environmental services, construction, or project-based industries is a plus. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile ERP system with soil remediation projects
- Assist with payroll data entry and timesheet tracking
- Assist with accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) functions
- Daily data entry and filing
- Creating and emailing corporate memos company wide
- Manage office phone calls and incoming email inquiries
- Monthly office administrative order of supplies
- Support Finance and Soil Remediation departments where necessary
- Assist with payroll data entry and timesheet tracking
- Assist in auditing and maintaining current office hardware spreadsheets
- Manage travel arrangements and appointments for upper management
- Perform general clerical duties and support the accounting team as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role
- Familiarity with accounting ERP software
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of the environmental services or construction industry helpful
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-orientated with outstanding organizational skills and the ability to prioritize important tasks
- Able to work well within a team setting with the ability to oversee tasks with minor supervision
- Excellent English skills – Reading, Writing and Speaking
- Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability

COR and ISNetworld certified, we serve a wide range of government, industrial, commercial and residential clients, working collaboratively with developers, environmental, geotechnical and civil consultants on their projects. Summit is experienced and committed to developing long-term, mutually beneficial relationships, especially among Indigenous communities.
Core to our full-service offerings is Summit’s Soil Management Centres, including transfer and treatment facilities and landfills designed for the safe handling and management of contaminated soils, hydrovac slurries and wood waste to meet strict remediation standards for the protection of the environment. With two Ministry of Environment permitted Soil Management Centres located in Mission and our newest facility in Quesnel, a wood waste landfill and contaminated soil bioremediation treatment cell is now open to accept and process materials. Summit Earthworks can transport and receive materials by barge at our facilities in Mission BC and upcoming new transfer facility in New Westminster. Transporting materials by barge presents our clients with another cost-effective option for consideration, especially for remote communities or those situated on the Island.
With each project, we strive to deliver our commitment to quality, achievement and integrity ensuring full Ministry of Environment compliance. All Summit Earthworks divisions utilize industry Best Management Practices (BMP’s), adhere to current WorkSafe H&S standards and implement proven construction techniques to safely execute diverse, complex environmental reclamation, remediation and earthworks projects.
