About the role
Gear Power is looking for skilled and motivated welders / fabricators to join our team in Mississauga!
Our service centre specializes in the installation and repair of truck-mounted hydraulic systems, SPIF axle systems, wheelbase alterations, snow and ice control equipment and installation of dump bodies. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in welding, fabrication, and mechanical installation, with a strong ability to work with metal components in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding and fabrication duties on a variety of materials, primarily steel and aluminum, for truck bodies.
- Fabricate and install custom dump bodies, frames, and other truck-related components.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to complete fabrication projects.
- Operate welding equipment such as MIG welders, along with cutting tools and grinders.
- Assemble truck body components and hydraulic systems, ensuring all components are aligned and securely installed.
- Inspect materials, parts, and equipment for quality and safety standards.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas to promote efficiency and safety.
- Troubleshoot and repair any issues related to welding or fabrication.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in general maintenance of shop equipment and tools.
Job Requirements:
- You have at least 3 years of good welding experience in both aluminum and steel welding (a welding certification or ticket is a bonus!)
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, cutting, and grinding.
- You have your own tools
- Passionate about being a welder/fabricator
- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and operate various shop machinery.
- You are dependable, reliable, and able to work in a team environment
This is a great opportunity for individuals who are looking to work in a small shop setting and improve their skill set.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
