What to Expect: The Quality Assurance Associate will be reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager and in turn the Site Quality Assurance Director. As a member of the quality team, they are responsible for all aspects of the quality functions as per current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company policy.
A day in the life of a Quality Assurance Associate:
- Maintain a current knowledge of applicable Non-prescription and Natural Health Product Directorate (NNHPD) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Dietary Supplement Regulations
- Maintain current knowledge of GMP/cGMP programs to ensure compliance with applicable NNHPD / FDA regulations
- Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures pertaining to job function and Good Manufacturing Practices/cGMP
- Working knowledge of all software implemented in relation to the Quality Systems and GMP/cGMP
- Ensure individual training is up to date
- Filing and managing product records
- Compiling data to support product review & release activities
- Creating sampling plan for testing, retain, stability and inspection of all incoming products and maintain appropriate records and invoicing for laboratory testing
- Provide support for product review and disposition (release, quarantine, investigation, and rejections)
- Provide support to Quality Assurance in performing investigations (deviations, Corrective Actions /Preventative Actions, Out of Specifications etc.) supporting a product disposition
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant Science degree or industry related areas.
- Experience is an asset with facilitation of Quality system programs such as: corrective action programs, deviations, audits and stability Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases
Preferred Skills
- Ability to follow instructions, schedules and timelines
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others in a collaborative and positive manner
- Ability to handle work volumes requiring a high degree of accuracy and organization
- Detail-oriented and strong work ethic
- Strong functional knowledge of Microsoft suite programs such as MS Word and Excel
