Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Steel Buyer to join our team. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing steel for our Buhler Versatile and Farm King divisions. The ideal candidate will bring a good understanding of steel as a commodity and trends in the market as well as bringing a strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and negotiation skills.

Duties:

• Procurement of steel based on company needs
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to secure advantageous terms
• Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods
• Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems for inventory control
• Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing
• Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues as needed
• Work closely with the supply chain team to optimize procurement processes

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Proven experience as a Buyer of steel
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and procedures
• Familiarity with MRP systems and supply chain management principles
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to analyze market trends and make informed purchasing decisions
• Experience in vendor management and relationship building
