About the role

Our mission is simple: to help our clients increase their online sales.
Breadstack is built in Canada to address the real challenges of cannabis retailers. We sync inventory in real time, manage orders, and handle payments, delivery, and fulfillment—seamlessly integrating with POS systems so retailers spend less time on manual tasks and more time delighting customers. Our SEO-optimized storefronts, live chat, marketing tools, and robust analytics remove friction and drive growth. Compliance is baked in at every layer (age checks, province rules, secure payments), letting clients launch and scale confidently. Join us to simplify complexity, increase revenue, and shape the future of cannabis retail commerce.

Role Overview:
As an Account Executive at Breadstack, you will drive sales growth by generating and nurturing high-quality leads. You’ll research prospects, run targeted outreach, and guide potential customers through the sales process—collaborating closely with marketing and reporting to the Head of Sales. This role offers a chance to make a tangible impact in a fast-growing SaaS company focused on a dynamic, regulated market.

What You’ll Do

  • Attend trade shows across North America (travel required) to engage prospects and bring new opportunities into the pipeline.
  • Qualify and follow up on inbound leads promptly, ensuring timely engagement and next steps.
  • Use online tools and databases to identify key decision-makers and build a robust lead list.
  • Craft personalized outreach messages (email, social media, calls) that clearly communicate our value proposition and resonate with each prospect’s needs.
  • Maintain and update a lead database: document interactions, track progress, and refine strategies based on response data.
  • Lead the full sales cycle from initial contact through demos, negotiation, and closing—managing administrative tasks and ensuring smooth handoffs.
  • Collaborate with product specialists on tailored demonstrations that address client pain points and highlight ROI.
  • Handle objections and negotiate terms effectively to exceed sales quotas.
  • Partner with Marketing to share insights on lead quality and campaign performance, contributing to continuous improvement of outbound and inbound tactics.
  • Participate in regular meetings with Technical Solutions and Customer Success teams to align on client requirements, share feedback, and refine the handoff process.
  • Monitor and update the CRM to keep records accurate, log communications, and forecast pipeline health.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly lead-generation and sales targets to fuel company growth.
  • Represent Breadstack professionally, demonstrating deep product expertise and positioning ourselves as a trusted advisor in conversations with prospects.
  • Gather market intelligence through customer interactions and events, using insights to influence product enhancements and messaging.
  • Adapt quickly to feedback, iterate on approaches, and work cross-functionally to remove blockers to closing deals.
  • Stay organized and proactive in managing priorities, balancing multiple prospects at different stages of the funnel.

Who You Are

  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have startup or rapid-growth experience, displaying a true hustle mentality.
  • You excel at outbound prospecting—comfortable with cold calls, creative outreach tactics, and also adept at converting inbound inquiries.
  • You communicate clearly and persuasively, tailoring messages to different audiences and channels.
  • You are results-driven: you track metrics, analyze outcomes, and pivot quickly to meet or exceed targets.
  • You research thoroughly: identifying prospects through multiple channels and uncovering insights that inform outreach.
  • You focus on customer needs and tailor solutions to drive their success in a regulated market.
  • You collaborate effectively: partnering with marketing, product specialists, and customer success to refine processes and improve conversion.
  • You adapt to change, welcome feedback, and constantly iterate for improvement.
  • Familiarity with eCommerce best practices (SEO, digital marketing) is a plus; knowledge of retail cannabis operations or eagerness to learn is highly valued.
  • You’re ready to travel for trade shows and client meetings, working within PST or EST time zones if remote.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years in B2B SaaS sales, ideally in a fast-paced or disruptive environment.
  • Proven track record of generating high-quality leads and closing deals in a B2B context.
  • Experience with CRM systems and diligent pipeline management.
  • Strong research skills to find and engage decision-makers.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, goal-oriented, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Comfortable travelling for trade shows and client meetings as needed.
