Full Job Description Our organization provides services in the following:
- Material testing, quality control, and quality assurance
- Geotechnical and foundation engineering
- Geo-environmental engineering
- Hydrogeotechnical Study
- Hydrogeologicalstudy, including Permit to Take Water (PTTW)
- Construction Inspection
- Quality Control and Assurance Testing of construction materials - soil, aggregate, concrete and asphalt
- Pavement design and structure condition assessment
- Inspection and certification of field construction for conformity with contract documents
We want to add a qualified engineer in the field of Geotechnical Engineering and Materials Engineering. Experience in Geo-Environmental Engineering to comply with Ont. Reg. 406/19 for excess soil disposal is an additional advantage. Hands-on experience in laboratory materials testing is also an advantage.
Qualifications
- Applicant should be a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
- Minimum five years experience in the field of geotechnical engineering and material testing, after graduation from university.
- Familiarity with geotechnical computer programs for analysis of stability of slope, retaining wall etc. (e.g. gINT, Plaxis 2D LE)
Duties
- Material Engineer assisting the Principal Engineer in the field and laboratory testing of construction material, geo-environmental investigation, and preparation of reports
- Geotechnical investigation for development and construction projects, and preparation of reports
- Reporting, field and laboratory work, and necessary coordination for a variety of development facilities and infrastructural facilities, including wet utilities and pavement structures
- Professional engineering services including inspection and certification of deep and shallow foundations, retaining walls, RSS walls, slope stability, structural excavation, test pits, boreholes, soil sampling, ground water, field analysis, etc., for conformity with contractual obligations
- Organizing and supervision of laboratory testing of field samples for classification of soils and other necessary parameters needed for the scope of investigations
- Any other duties as deemed necessary in the field and laboratory operations
