The Blueprint

The Senior Project Accountant is responsible for overseeing project accounting and reporting, managing tasks such as project profitability analysis, financial working papers, and project cash flow statements. This includes handling a portfolio of projects at different stages of development.

A Glimpse into Your Daily Activities

  • Cash Flow Management & Forecasting: Prepare bi-monthly project cash flow projections, incorporating budget assumptions, financing, and sales data and analyze legal agreements to ensure projections align with contractual obligations.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Develop detailed bi-monthly project status reports, including profitability, timelines, and variance analysis while ensuring all schedules and reports are accurate, complete, and supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Year-End Financial Preparation: Compile and review year-end financial working papers for corporate accounting and investigate and explain significant variances, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Partner Reporting & Communication: Prepare and present monthly financial reports for project partners, aligned with partnership agreements while leading discussions in partner meetings, addressing financial projections and project updates.
  • Loan Draw Review & Compliance: Review monthly loan draw requests for accuracy and compliance with legal and financial models, while tracking project costs against budgets and investigate any significant discrepancies.

The Architect of Your Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional Accounting Designation (i.e. CPA).
  • Minimum 3-5 years accounting experience in project accounting or financial analysis, preferably in the real estate or construction industry.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and address challenges collectively.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to upholding high ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality of financial information, and ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for financial modeling.
