Job Description
Thrive Therapy is currently hiring an Occupational Therapist to join our growing team.
New grads welcome to apply. Experienced Occupational Therapists will be compensated accordingly.
The successful Occupational Therapist will be hired as a contractor and the caseload may involve working with clients of all ages - pediatric, adolescent, adult, and seniors.
The successful applicant also has the option to work hours on Saturday. This is not a requirement and is solely based on the successful applicants preference.

Requirements:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy, from an accredited University.
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia (COTNS).
- Professional liability insurance.
- Legal ability to work in Canada.
- Criminal background check and vulnerable sector check required.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the strengths and needs of clients referred for Occupational Therapy through formal and informal evaluations, as well as consultation with families, caregivers, and other community partners (e.g., schools, psychologists, care facilities, etc.).
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on assessment findings, and re-evaluate progress at regular intervals.
- Collaborate with clients, families/caregivers, and relevant community partners to support goal development and implementation.
- Work independently to complete assessments, documentation, and follow-up in a timely and professional manner.
- Experience or interest in areas such as mental health, sensory processing, emotional regulation, trauma-informed care, fine motor skills, self-care and daily living skills, and relationship-based approaches across the lifespan.
- Strong report writing and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with clients, families/caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Preference given to those with experience in mental health and wellness.
- Above all – a passion for supporting individuals and families in achieving meaningful goals!

Pay: From $65.00 per hour
