About the role
Responsible for developing premium product and ensuring it performs through garment fit and construction, and is meeting the needs of the DUER customer.
Duties:
- Own development of garments
- Organize daily workflow that adhere to GTM deliverables & development timelines
- Develop and create tech packs and specs to communicate requirements for Design aesthetic, fit, cost and construction.
- Measure garments and evaluate development against submitted tech pack
- Prepare for fittings & presentations: Measure, evaluate fit samples submits
- Lead fittings with the support of the Sr PD and PD Manager: Present style history, take notes of the required fit and construction corrections discussed for assigned styles
- Spec and analyze garments to determine compliance of measurements, workmanship, construction direction, and maintain fit intent
- Analyze and communicate the outcome of the fittings and construction reviews with cross functional and vendor partners.
- Coordinate all factory and vendor communication throughout development process to ensure accurate material sourcing, and successful execution of product
- Maintain information docs, development tracker and product master
- Build vendor & cross-functional relationships through effective communication, through email, in person and virtually.
- Manage product/wear testing to assure the products meet the outlined standards
Competencies:
- Experience with denim wash/washed garments
- Strong understanding of garment specs, construction and tech packs
- Working knowledge of fabric, construction, draping, and pattern making
- Basic understanding of grading
- Self-motivated individual who takes initiative
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple administrative tasks & competing priorities
- Attention to detail, and motivated by organization, discipline, data & accuracy
- Strong Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
Qualifications:
- At least 2-3 years of Denim specific Product Development experience
- Degree/diploma in Fashion Design or related field
- In-depth experience with Excel and Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, In Design and Photoshop
- Experience with PLM
Reports to:
- Product Development Manager.
Working Team:
- Product Creation Group.
Works Closely with:
- Design , Product, and Production / Quality.
Location:
- Part time in office and part time remote.
Job Type: 12 month contract
