Golf Course Worker, Part-Time

As a Golf Course Worker, you will perform a variety of duties individually or as a member of a crew under the direction of various supervisors. Primary duties include:
- Operate the various machinery and tools used in the maintenance of the golf course properties
- Perform manual labor tasks required to maintain the properties to a high level of detail, this may include but is not limited to tasks such as string trimming, manual excavations, landscape construction, etc.
- Attend to Driving Range facilities by collecting and washing golf balls, restocking dispensers, and keeping the driving range areas neat and tidy.
- Washing, fueling and staging of public rental power carts.
- Pick up litter, complete general cleanup, basic maintenance and painting.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits or a Graduated Driver's Licence (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, and no current suspensions or charges pending is required.
- Previous experience in golf course or landscape maintenance will be considered assets.
- Work as a team member, be aware of safety regulations and requirements and work safely, undertake all aspects of the job thoroughly and willingly.
- Strong communication, planning and organizational skills; understanding of golf course operating practices; ability to deal effectively with a variety of customers.
**Working Conditions:**Work is performed in all types of weather conditions. The work is physically demanding and may involve heavy lifting, prolonged bending, crouching, kneeling and climbing.
Pre-employment Requirements
- Must obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
- Applicants may be contacted, interviewed, and hired throughout the duration of this competition.
Pre-employment Drug Test: An offer of employment for this position will be conditional on an applicant passing a pre-employment drug test. This test assesses for use of drugs including cannabis. Failure to pass a pre-employment drug test may prevent an applicant from being hired into any safety sensitive position for a period of up to twelve months.

Compensation: $30.64 - 33.94 per hour
Days of Work: Shifts vary to provide coverage for 7 days operations. Shifts are 4to 6 hours in length.
Hours of work: This position works minimum 16 hours per week
