About the role
Description
The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for collecting business requirements, interviewing senior business stakeholders, developing presentations, programming/maintaining claim processing subsystems, and providing innovative thought leadership to the organizations. This individual will use American Claims Management, Inc. methodologies to deliver innovative solutions to strengthen our relationships with internal stakeholders. This individual must be willing to adapt to new environments and must be able to effectively work under pressure.
Key Responsibilities

Working in a customized software development environment with responsibilities including business analysis, requirements analysis, system development and maintenance, modeling, change management, and documentation.

Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT developers, vendors, and QA team.
-
Support client implementations, ensuring smooth onboarding and system configuration to meet client specific requirements.
-
Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure accurate documentation of test results and signoffs.
-
Provide post-implementation support, training, and documentation to ensure adoption and issue resolution.
-
Utilize SQL to query databases, extract and analyze data, validate system behavior, and support reporting and troubleshooting.
-
Review stored procedures for system requirements.
-
Investigate exceptions related to asset movements.
-
Maintain the standards consistent with current IT protocols and procedures and implement action plans as needed for change management.
-
Learn, maintain and upgrade existing company systems as needed.
-
Provide process improvements by automating manual processes.
-
Analyze, audit, modify, and amend data in systems as requested by other team members and to better serve the needs of the business.

Analyze and comprehend state requirements and rules (eg. COBC, EDI) in order to maintain and update existing SQL code as needed.

Assist with development efforts to define and automate data gathering, analysis and reporting processes.

Communicate database changes to affected parties and support change management activities.
-
Comprehend workers’ compensation and liability claims and medical data to correctly interpret data to observe and report trends to enable more effective customer service and business decisions

Work effectively with project management, support, and other internal departments.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
-
Experience with IT/IS SDLC Methodology.
-
3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
-
Experience programming with one or more of the following scripts: SQL, XML, Visual Basic, ASP, JSP, HTML.

Basic understanding of networks and web services.
-
Familiarity with client server and/or Internet application.
-
Experience working with insurance applications preferred, but not necessary.
-
Strong mathematical capabilities, analytical skills, and detail orientation.
-
Strong organizational, communication and data management skills.
-
Strong presentation, oral and written communication skills.
-
Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
-
Ability to read requirements for implementation.
-
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
