The Opportunity:

We are recruiting for a Service Coordinator (Youth Outreach Worker, The Grove

  • This is a regular full-time opportunity (35 hours per week Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm with evening hours as needed) based at 390 Main St. E. Palmerston.

Reporting to the Team Lead, The Grove – Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario, this position will provide assessment, intervention, outreach and service coordination for referrals for youth aged 12 to 26.

The Grove is a one stop shop for youth between the ages of 12 and 26, providing mental health, addictions and developmental services including access to safe spaces, professional support services, and other youth workers. It is a collaborative project with the aim of providing youth with the support they need to build positive, bright futures.

Qualifications:

  • Degree/diploma in psychology, social work, or relevant health or social science field
  • Three or more years of related experience working with youth (12-26 years) with mental health/addictions issues
  • Experience working with diverse youth populations, including 2SLGBTQIA+, racialized and marginalized communities
  • Well-developed assessment, intervention and support skills
  • Experience working with youth homelessness
  • Working knowledge of mental health, addiction and concurrent issues
  • Well-developed knowledge base of the various service systems within the catchment area’ including mental health and addiction supports and resources
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment and also independently
  • Good organizational, communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a busy inter-disciplinary setting and with formal and informal community resources
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook and various data base software
  • Demonstrated belief in the values and philosophy of CMHA WW
  • Demonstrated sound clinical and practical judgement
  • A valid driver’s license, vehicle and insurance, as travel is required

CLASSIFICATION AND RATE OF PAY: Level 5 (OPSEU) - $32.74 TO $39.90 per hour
