Today we have a workforce of 1500+ employees and we are seeking to add an experienced Senior HR Manager to join our team and help us continue our commitment to excellence in people development, organizational growth, and leadership. Our intention is to provide additional corporate support for our regional managers.

Position Overview: The Senior HR Manager will play a crucial role in shaping the organizational culture and developing strategic initiatives for talent management, team building, and succession planning. This role is designed for a results-oriented HR leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record in driving high-performance teams through coaching, career planning, and structured development programs. Some travel will be required to visit our operations in BC, Ontario, and USA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Building & High-Performance Development:

Lead initiatives to foster a high-performance culture, including organizing team-building activities, and developing strategies to improve employee engagement, collaboration, and overall team effectiveness.

  • Personality Profiling & Coaching:

Utilize personality profiling tools to assess team dynamics and individual strengths. Provide coaching to managers and teams to optimize performance, resolve conflicts, and enhance productivity.

  • Succession Planning:

Drive structured succession planning processes for regional teams, identifying and developing future leaders to ensure business continuity and talent retention.

  • Performance Reviews: Support with structured performance reviews, documenting concerns, creating succession plans, providing 360-degree feedback, aligning compensation plans, and integrating structured career development plans.

  • Career Planning, Development & Mentorship:

Develop and implement career planning strategies for employees, with a particular focus on creating development tracks for high-potential individuals. Ensure there are clear paths for growth, providing education, continuous feedback, and mentorship.

  • Training for Front-Line Supervisors:

Design and deliver training programs aimed at improving the skills of front-line supervisors, including leadership development, conflict resolution, performance management, and communication skills.

  • Union Barraging and Negotiation:

Act as a leader with union negotiations and bargaining. Maintain positive relationships between the workforce, unions and company management.

  • Key Hiring & Firing:

Oversee recruitment processes for key roles, ensuring the hiring of top talent across various functions. Manage employee terminations with a focus on maintaining a positive, respectful, and compliant process.

  • HR Strategy & Compliance:

Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with overall business goals. Ensure compliance with regional labor laws and company policies.

  • Streamline & Standardize Onboarding: Responsibility to streamline recruitment and onboarding across the Ecotex group of companies. Creating the standards and educating on them to establish a requirement for high performing teams.

  • Educate our Front-Line Supervisors: Both coordination of and rolling out of education programs for our frontline supervisors to maintain consistent HR excellence across all locations. Facilitate training sessions across the business units both in person and virtually as required. Support to the health and safety elements of the company is important.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership and team development, career planning, succession planning, and union relations
  • Proven experience in personality profiling tools (e.g., MBTI, DiSC, StrengthsFinder, Personalysis)
  • Strong understanding of labor laws in Canada and the United States
  • Experience with union negotiations and bargaining
  • Experience developing and implementing structured training programs for managers and employees
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining high-performance teams
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills
  • Ability to think strategically while also executing tactically in a fast-paced, growing environment
  • Proven success in managing sensitive employee relations issues with empathy and professionalism
  • Ability to travel to the USA and within Canada.
