The Role Reporting to the National Director of Commercial Services, the Professional Engagement Veterinarian’s main objective is to collaborate with all clinics across the country in alignment with Procurement and Commercial Services best practices.

Ideally, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, the successful candidate is an extraordinary relationship builder and collaborator who drives cross-functional team engagement to capture contributions that will drive sourcing to ensure compliant clinical best practice guidelines.

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with supplier partners and clinics.
  • Day-to-day management and building relationships with industry partners, through regular follow-up meetings with supplier knowledge experts and wider team. Escalate issues and challenges as appropriate.
  • Remain up-to-date with the product and service portfolio of our key partners
  • Regular communication with clinics to share information around procurement and supplier agreements.
  • Support the maintenance of any procurement related information that is shared with clinic and operations staff (handbooks, guidelines, procedures)
  • Regular discussion and alignment with the National Medical Advisory Board to ensure procurement and clinical interests are aligned and working together (one-team)
  • Onboarding - Ensure all clinics joining the group are being on boarded to our best practices and ensure necessary changes are implemented
  • Create and implement KPIs and dashboard with Operations Analytics team to follow-up and find areas of improvement for newly onboarded hospitals

Background, Experience And Qualifications

  • 8+ years of veterinary experience, general management experience, gained in the veterinary industry
  • A good understanding of the needs from the veterinarians and technicians, being able to advise on clinical product choices (example pharma)
  • Excellent ability to influence and convey information to others in an effective manner; positive, clear and to the point
  • Makes clear, consistent, transparent decisions; acts with integrity in all decision making; distinguishes relevant from irrelevant information and makes timely decisions based on a mixture of analysis, experience, and judgment
  • Strong capacity to build and manage relationships with external vendors; establish trust and build value together
  • Able to build momentum with short-term gains as well as delivering strategic and sustainable improvements
  • Excellent ability to persuade through figures and facts, influence and explore positions and alternatives to reach outcomes that will gain acceptance of all parties and meet our strategic objectives
  • High energy, creative, contemporary thinker, influencer, collaborator, team player
  • Understands change management concepts and can support people and teams through change, growth and scale in a fast paced environment
  • Flexible and agile, comfortable navigating through challenging and complex situations
  • A superior focus on the details, proactive and tech savvy approach
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, sound judgment, independent and creative thinking
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred but not a must
  • Comfortable being around pets when visiting the office
