ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an exciting new position at Genoa within our Contracts Management Team! In this dynamic role, the Contract Specialist will support the development, negotiation, and administration of customer and supplier agreements. This role helps ensure contract compliance, mitigates risks to Genoa and our projects, and supports overall alignment with organizational and project objectives. Working closely with internal teams and external partners and clients, the Contract Specialist will provide guidance on contract terms, support supplier evaluations, and help manage contracts throughout their lifecycle.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the development and improvement of contract management policies, procedures, and best practices to streamline processes and reduce inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with project teams to manage change and track completion of contractual deliverables using integrated tools.
- Participate in contract review discussions, identifying potential risks and deviations.
- Support and participate in the negotiation, review, and execution of customer and supplier agreements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance on contract management processes and requirements.
- Prepare, distribute, and maintain contract documentation, ensuring an organized system of records.
- Facilitate supplier evaluations and re-evaluations to ensure quality and compliance.
- Track contract deadlines, monitor adherence to contractual requirements, and ensure compliance throughout.
- Taking on additional duties as required to support the team and organization.
ABOUT YOU
- 3+ years of experience in a Contract Administrator, Contract Specialist, or similar role, with strong exposure to contract-related responsibilities.
- Confident in interpreting and drafting contracts, with a solid understanding of contract law and procurement rules.
- Experienced in supporting project execution by tracking and coordinating contract deliverables.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel Outlook, etc.
- Experience with contract management tools such as DocuSign CLM.
ELIGIBILITY
Please note that obtaining security clearance is a mandatory requirement for this position. As part of this process, the successful candidate will undergo an extensive background check and personal reference verification.
To be eligible for this position and to successfully obtain the required security clearances, candidates must be either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
