Smart Home Designs Niagara is an innovative company with a clear vision: to make creative, customizable homes accessible to everyone. Specializing in steel structural insulated panel (Steel SIPs) design and construction, we offer affordable, comfortable, and energy-efficient housing solutions for both the agricultural and residential sectors.
We are currently seeking a full-time Sales and Business Development Representative to join our growing team. This role is key to promoting the value and benefits of our building methods and materials to a diverse range of clients. A primary focus will be working with those seeking pre-engineered housing solutions—ideal for secondary detached residences or Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). Another important area of focus is supporting farm operations with high-quality, efficient accommodations for farmworkers.
This position will concentrate on identifying and developing new sales and growth opportunities across all market segments, with a strong emphasis on networking. The successful candidate will represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events, guiding clients through every stage of the sales process with the goal of turning leads into long-term customers.
The ideal candidate is passionate about housing solutions and community impact, with a talent for building relationships and a drive to grow with a mission-driven business.
Outcomes and Expectations:

Representing the company at various conferences and tradeshows. Conferences may require overnight travel and are typically 3 days in length.

Communicate the values and benefits of Smart Home Designs Niagara Steel SIP housing units to clearly and effectively convey the product offering, and how it meets the need for innovative housing.

Develop a deep understanding of the unique challenges and needs of the agricultural sector in providing worker accommodations, as well as those of individuals looking to build new residential homes.

Draw on networking skills to seek out and explore new opportunities.

Capture prospect contact details and other pertinent information in CRM.

Follow up with customer leads post-show and schedule walkthroughs and/or meetings.

With strong collaboration and communication, work with the President, Project Manager and Business Manager as needed to lead the customer through the purchasing process from concept to signed contract.

Maintain relationship with the customer through the project execution stage to completion.

Successfully balance both time away from the office on the road, and time at the office for meetings with prospects.

Understanding the needs of our customers is critical. This new role requires someone who is a good listener and curious to understand the housing challenges while at the same time eager and persistent to offer the best solutions and meet sales goals.

Experience in cultivating lasting relationships that lead to trusted sales and referrals will ensure the mission and vision of the company are achieved.

Must have a vehicle and be willing to travel in Ontario.

Experience in the real estate industry is an asset

You have a good work ethic, enjoy challenges and working independently while simultaneously supporting the team. You are a business professional who is self-motivated, driven to achieve goals, organized, and flexible.

Pay: $55,000.00 per year
