About the role

The Athletics & Recreation Department requires an Operations Student Assistant for the Panther Academy After-School program for the remainder of the school year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the guidance of the Coordinator, Sales & Panther Academy, the successful candidate will:

  • Develop and implement program curriculum
  • Conduct themselves and their work in an enjoyable, presentable and professional manner
  • Have effective behavioral skills and be prepared to deal with various behavioral issues
  • Perform duties without direct supervision
  • Be responsible for submitting daily reports to the Coordinator, Sales & Panther Academy
  • Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a current UPEI student
  • Previous experience working with children or working in a camp or school setting
  • Developing or leading educational or sport programming for children and knowledge of gym/outdoor games and activities would be considered an asset
  • Ability to communicate and be assertive
  • Enthusiastic, outgoing, friendly and courteous personality
  • Ability to relate positively to staff, children and parents
  • Adapt easily to unexpected circumstances and additional duties
  • Must have current CPR and AED training or agree to obtain this certification along with a Criminal Record Check at own expense, upon hiring
