The Edmonton Police Service requires one (1) positive individual committed to providing exemplary customer service to assume the position of Alarm Management Coordinator in the Police Information Check & Alarm Control Section. Responsibilities of this position include:
- Accurately processing alarm permit applications.
- Reviewing alarm files and issuing false alarm invoices.
- Cancelling and suspending alarm permits accordingly.
- Collecting and processing fees for police information checks and alarm permits.
- Performing general office duties including collecting and distributing mail in addition to other related duties as required.
- Responding to internal and external partner and customer enquiries.
- Must be able to develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
- Preparing memorandums, briefing notes and written communications as required.
- Reviewing alarm occurrences for pattern analysis.
Qualifications:
- Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college, supplemented by training in basic computer applications.
- A minimum of two (2) years diversified word and information processing experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year recent cash handling experience including point of sale terminal experience.
- Knowledge of the Alarm Systems Bylaw and Enhanced Call Verification would be considered an asset.
- Exemplary interpersonal and customer service skills. Previous customer relations experience would be considered an asset.
- Experience with City of Edmonton cash handling procedures would be considered an asset.
- Experience in JOIN and EPROS would be considered an asset.
- Experience with iNet, CAD, and the Edmonton Police Service Alarm Control Database would be considered an asset.
- Ability to obtain a Bylaw Officer appointment.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience issuing alarm permits, false alarm invoices and reviewing alarm files would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Hours of Work:
40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, 0745hrs to 1615hrs Monday to Friday.
Salary Range:
21B, Salary Grade: 007, $23.787 - $29.534 (Hourly), $1,903.00 - $2,362.70 (Bi-Weekly), $49,667.26 - $61,666.99 (Annually).
The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
