About the role
Reporting to the Category Management Director, the Category Manager will ensure growth of Lassonde’s categories by being the expert and providing analysis, key information as well as strategic recommendations to key customers and internal stakeholders such as sales, marketing and revenue management.

Key activities
- Proactively identify and quantify opportunities for Lassonde categories and recommend clear actions;
- Work closely with sales in developing strong business plans focusing on strategic business objectives;
- Be a recommendation force and the customer’s first call when it comes to support, knowledge and category development;
- Build and propose a specific category plan based on the strategies of each retailer;
- In conjunction with marketing, drive the “Go to Market” strategy: develop convincing and relevant sales stories to support new product launches;
- Ensure the implementation of the portfolio strategy, list the risks and “listing” opportunities in order to optimize distribution and assortment;
- Create channel and brand development opportunities by identifying trends or relevant information that match category, company and customer objectives;
- Develop pricing / promotion expertise to support revenue management in developing strategies against targeted competitors;
- Enrich business intelligence through continuous training and development of internal resources;
- Build, improve and communicate monthly and quarterly reports (market, categories, segments, competition, shoppers, etc.).
Required Training And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent field;
- 3 to 5 years in category management or similar experience in the “CPG” industry;
Skills sought
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to perform complex data analyzes;
- In-depth knowledge Nielsen platform;
- Knowledge of customer sales data systems: Dunnhumby, IRI, LDIA, etc .;
- Excellent skills with MS Office Excel and PowerPoint applications;
- Technical competence of the JDA Space Planning tool and the development of planograms;
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills;
- Sense of initiative and comfortable working independently;
- This role can be based in Rougemont, QC, in Toronto, ONT or in Kelowna, BC.
