SCOPE
Reporting to the Manager, Graduate Awards, the incumbent provides expertise pertaining to the Graduate Awards and Bursary solution. They act as a resource person on whom others draw to get information, resolve problems and recommend enhancements. The Business Analyst is expected to understand the business scope and purpose of the Graduate Awards and Bursary solution to enable effective change management and execution. They will liaise with subject matter experts and project stakeholders to resolve complex issues and ensure successful implementation. Additionally, the Business Analyst will provide expert knowledge on system interactions, and dependencies related to the new solution. They are also responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and supporting the development and rollout of new features, as well as determining how these changes will affect documentation and training. The Business Analyst will provide support and knowledge transfer of the system to all partners.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage with partners at various organizational levels to ensure project alignment and facilitate clear and effective communication regarding project scope and objectives. Actively contribute to the solution strategy discussions and test the Graduate Awards and Bursary solution to ensure it meets business requirements and standards.
- Manage the Graduate Awards and Bursary solution’s operational tasks on a day-to-day basis, including the processing of interfaces, file/data loads, and management of application configuration.
- Configure and maintain system according to business needs, as well as maintaining configured data for accuracy and reliability. Responsible for eliciting and documenting functional system requirements in collaboration with subject matter experts and partners, provide detailed functional specifications.
- Oversee the deployment of new features and conduct unit and user acceptance testing to ensure functionality of the system. Coordinate the rollout of new features to the user community and ensure the overall stewardship and security of graduate awards and bursaries data by implementing and upholding data governance policies.
- Liaise with subject matter experts and sponsors to resolve complex issues and provide expert knowledge on business processes and system interactions. Identify impacts to documentation and training related to system deployment, perform knowledge transfer, and provide support to partners. Develop training materials and documentation for all processes.
- Document the scope and business needs as provided by subject matter experts, detailing requirements, processes, value, roles, and benefits for project deliverables.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure that the Graduate Awards and Bursary solution is in alignment with business objectives and requirements.
- Support, optimize, and enhance the solution to ensure it continues to meet evolving business needs.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, customize and maintain content and optimize performance of the Graduate Awards and Bursary solution. Provide support to platform users involved in graduate awards and bursaries.
- Provide training to Graduate Awards and Bursary solution users involved in graduate awards and bursaries.
- Perform other duties in support of the operation of the unit.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the primary responsibilities and two to four years of related work experience.
- Advanced knowledge of and experience with system analysis, design methodologies and tools.
- Project management skills an asset.
- Strong research, analytical and functional requirement documentation skills with ability to efficiently and effectively synthesize information.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and good knowledge (Intermediate level) of Word for documentation creation and maintenance.
- Very good spoken and written English (Level 5) and French (Level 4) to communicate effectively and to produce documentation and reports.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work in a team environment using a collaborative approach.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Aptitude to work in a service-oriented environment and dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of partners.
- Critical thinker with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weakness of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
