What makes this role important at Ipsos:
The Manager, FP&A will work as a strategic business partner to support key Canadian Service Lines in driving growth and ensuring compliance with established financial reporting guidelines and accounting policies, including but not limited to analytics, budgeting, forecasting, expense and cash management. The position requires a person with proven analytical and multi-tasking skills who can communicate across the organization, working closely with Business Leaders, FP&A teams, and Controllership group.
The role also requires an individual with a high degree of autonomy and solid financial acumen. Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize input from multiple sources are a must. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a changing environment, with an extensive analytical background, problem-solving skills and experience driving results. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer, Canada, and is based in Toronto. Ipsos Canada follows a hybrid workplace model.
Duration: This is a 14-month full-time contract with the ability to extend or become permanent.
What you can expect to be doing?
- Prepare monthly financial package, including management reports to monitor financial targets and key performance indicators, including quarterly presentations to Group/Corporate Headquarters;
- Responsible for the month-end close and in-depth knowledge of the P&L through monthly financial review and working closely with the accounting team and business leaders on a day-to-day basis, including assisting with the annual and quarterly external audit;
- Manage the quarterly financial forecasts and annual budgeting process in collaboration with key business leaders in support of the company’s strategic and financial objectives;
- Provider of insight focused on using financial information to analyze trends and anomalies to recommend actions and targeted results;
- Ensure Ipsos’ policies and internal controls are followed and accurate financial information is available on a timely basis;
- Embed a digital-first mindset by proactively identifying opportunities to leverage technology in all aspects of work, including process improvements
- Build relationships with the business and internal shared services teams to optimize collaboration and knowledge sharing;
- Ad-hoc reporting and projects.
This might be the job for you if you have:
- 6+ years of financial and management reporting experience
- University degree in Accounting/Commerce, with accounting designation preferred
- Proven experience in a finance business partnering role, Big Four accounting firm and/or within a publicly listed company is required
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with deep attention to details
- Self-starter, proactive, with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent reporting skills - written and verbal, including strong interpersonal skills
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, Vlookup, Macros, etc.) & PowerPoint, MS Office 365, and overall IT system-savvy mindset and strong penchant to build tools and templates
- Keen to embrace AI-enabled and digital-first methodologies.
