Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the Life Enrichment Coordinator is to organize quality, on-going recreation and social activities in a local retirement community. Duties and responsibilities would include, but not limited to, creating a monthly schedule of events, organizing creative and effective senior recreation, personally connecting with residents, and providing updates to the Community Manager, as required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills, and abilities:
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma; and,
- Experience in a health-related industry and/or with seniors considered an asset.
- Experience with programing for older adults
Skills and Abilities
- A passion for community and recreation;
- Desire to care for seniors;
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service;
- Creative and able to apply creativity to senior living;
- Desire and ability to both provide and exemplify exceptional care;
- Flexible to cater to resident needs;
- Problem-solving skills;
- Focus on confidentiality;
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, family, staff, and volunteers alike;
- Familiar with Facebook and Social Media; and,
- Intermediate computer skills.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but limited to, the following responsibilities and duties:
- Create a monthly schedule of activities for residents;
- Make creative changes and modifications to recreation program to help encourage participation;
- Provide oversight and leadership to:
- Exercise Activities;
- Games and Recreation;
- Outings;
- Organize with local groups and volunteers to provide:
- Music and Talent Events;
- Religious Services;
- Other related services;
- Organize Special Events for special days and seasons;
- Use newsletter template to write, print and distribute a quarterly resident newsletter; and,
- Highlight events and residents on the company Facebook page.
- Highlight resident birthdays by purchasing a birthday cake;
- Socialize with residents on an on-going basis;
- Assist residents with integration, and encourage community; Engage them to participate;
- Maintain a caring and interested attitude when dealing with residents and families; and,
- Provide a Recreation plan that encourages all residents to engage.
- Track and maintain receipts for budget;
- Use supplies wisely and responsibility, ensuring resources are used efficiently; and,
- When required, be an active team member assisting in other departments.
This is a full time position that may require some evenings and weekends
