About the role

Job Title: Social Media Content Creator

Location: Remote

Duration: 8 weeks

Rate: $17.20/hour

Hours: 35 hours/week

Start Date: Immediately or within two weeks

As the Canada Summer Jobs program is funding this role, the following are eligibility requirements :

  • You are between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • You are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

At Tech Mommas in Canada (TEMCA) AKA TEMCA Women Network, we use social media to connect, empower, and grow our network of women in tech. We aim to create visually engaging and meaningful content that resonates with our community. This role is integral to our digital engagement strategy, combining content creation and graphic design to shape our brand across various platforms.

Job Description:

We are looking for three proactive Social Media Content Creator to manage and elevate our social media platforms (YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn). This role will be critical in expanding our online presence, driving engagement, and visually storytelling the TEMCA mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Develop original and visually appealing social media content to boost followers and engagement on all platforms. Reels, Posts and Videos.
  • Graphic Design: Design branded graphics, infographics, and multimedia assets for social media, ensuring a cohesive look and feel across platforms.
  • Platform Management: Schedule and manage posts on Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube, adapting content to suit each platform’s audience.
  • Social Media Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and social media best practices, incorporating them into TEMCA’s strategy.
  • Engagement: Actively engage with followers, respond to inquiries, and foster a supportive online community.
  • Collaboration: Work with other TEMCA teams to promote events, programs, and initiatives in alignment with our mission.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience managing social media and creating visual content for brands or organizations, ideally within tech or non-profit sectors.
  • Content Development: Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Canva, CapCut, TikTok, Edits, Adobe Premiere or similar tools.
  • Graphic Design: Knowledge of composition, fonts and the colour theory basics.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong understanding of social media metrics, analytics, and reporting to optimize engagement strategies.
  • Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
  • Passion for Women’s Empowerment & Tech: A commitment to supporting women in tech and advancing TEMCA’s mission.
