The project:
Our Transportation team in Canada is expanding in Q4 2025. We’re looking for a Program Lead to join our team. As the Program Lead you will represent Mace whilst interfacing with our key clients. You will ensure the successful delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.
This role can be based in either Montreal or Toronto. 1 week per month must be worked in Montreal.
The Project is intended to develop a new intercity passenger rail system connecting Toronto, Peterborough, Ottawa, Montréal, Trois-Rivières and Québec City with mainly new, electrified and dedicated tracks that extend over 1,000 km in the Corridor, with new and upgraded rights-of-way, tracks, structures, stations, rolling stock and rail systems. Canada also intends for the Project to include a railway electrification system along most of the Alignment.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the Constructability workstream and the associated team
- Provide strategic guidance and direction for the delivery aspect of the project
- Aim to optimize construction methodology, processes, and procedures
- Evaluate project designs to determine constructability and identify potential challenges early in the process
- Construability risk identification, management and mitigation
- Key interface between design, construction, procurement, and operations
- Establish and track key performance indicators related to constructability for ongoing assessment of project outcomes
- You will have full budgetary oversight and ensure operations are fiscally and ethically viable and meet organisational and legislative compliance obligations.
- You will directly influence long term development of strategy for a function or Business Unit (BU), creating a sustainable business future.
- You will commit to making a positive impact for our people, our clients, and our planet, and take ownership for holding others to account who do not uphold the Mace values.
- You will mentor, coach, and develop your project team and provide an environment to share knowledge and experience.
- You will actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace Group, the Centres of Excellence, Mace Way Control Centre and Knowledge Hub.
- You will use your network to identify talent, lead recruitment, and manage the development, retention and mobility of people, and support our people to achieve their highest potential.
You'll also need to have:
- Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the Rail sector.
- Deep infrastructure project management expertise.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
- Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on
