Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Tank Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating chemical tank lines and related equipment to clean, etch, plate, and finish metal parts in accordance with company and customer specifications. The ideal candidate is highly attentive to detail, comfortable working with chemicals and machinery, and able to perform quality inspections and maintenance in a fast-paced production environment.

As a Tank Operator, you will be responsible for preparing tanks, monitoring and adjusting operating conditions, performing chemical tests, and ensuring all finishing processes are completed safely and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fill, prepare, and maintain tanks, including performing chemical additions and solution testing.
  • Monitor tank conditions, including voltage, temperature, and solution levels; make necessary adjustments.
  • Select appropriate racks and wire or clip parts for processing.
  • Perform cleaning, etching, rinsing, degreasing, and plating operations on parts.
  • Conduct periodic tests such as plating thickness, conductivity, and polarized light inspections.
  • Operate assigned tank lines (Unit 4 and Unit 18) and use overhead cranes for material handling.
  • Perform visual inspections such as water break-free tests to ensure surface quality.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and safety standards at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • May perform other duties as required.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12).
  • Prior experience in tank operation, chemical handling, or metal finishing is an asset.
  • Ability to read and follow technical data, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes or similar lifting equipment is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of chemical processes and testing procedures.
