The location in Hagerstown, (Maryland, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Hagerstown Shipping Coordinator. This job is full-time permanent.
1. Summary:
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily warehousing activities, including managing staff, optimizing warehouse operations, and ensuring efficient and effective storage and distribution of goods.
2. Major Responsibilities:
- Ensure efficient space utilization and maintain high standards for inventory handling and storage.
- Lead, guide, and evaluate warehouse personnel, fostering a positive work environment.
- Implement and uphold safety regulations and operational standards.
- Oversee inventory control processes, including receiving, storage, and dispatching of goods.
- Continuously seek ways to improve warehouse operations, including the implementation of new technologies or processes.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on inventory and warehouse activities.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely distribution of products.
3. Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in a warehouse supervisory role or similar.
- Proven experience in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
4. Relationships:
- Reports to the Distribution Center Manager.
- Works closely with other departmental managers and supervisory staff.
- Consults with vendors, suppliers, and transport companies.
- Directly manages warehouse staff including coordinators and handlers.
Education
- Associate degree preferred, High School Graduate Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant field experience.
5. Knowledge, Skills, and Main Responsibilities
- Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency.
- SAP or other WMS system experience.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain management principles.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage staff.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with the capability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Schedules shipping schedule for all outbound loads to customers.
- Manages Assignments of loads to shipping team.
- Ensure orders being shipped out are loaded with correct materials.
- Post all loads in SAP once shipped so to generate post goods and invoicing.
- Maintain secure records of outgoing packing list and Bill of Ladings.
- Manages POD (proof of delivery) requests.
- Generate daily reports for scheduled loads and missed appointments.
- Manage LTL shipments for Revo Despensers.
- Assist with inventory control of finished goods.
- Maintain daily dock schedule.
- Work with customer service reps and logistics teams to meet our customer demands.
- Troubleshoot and correct any shipping issues that arise in the DC.
- Assist with onboarding of new DC personnel.
- Backup for DC Manager and forklift Operator.
