About the role
Join our team as our newest CMM Programmer/Operator! This position is on our Day Shift.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Performs dimensional evaluations using fixtures , hand instruments/ gages and CMM;
- Writes programs and operates CMM using Zeiss, COSMOS and Mitutoyo CMM equipment
- Verifies parts and fixtures for PPAP**;**
- Calibrates fixtures
- Completes annual dimensional layouts on parts;
- Ensures part layouts and inspection fixture certifications are completed as scheduled;
- Ensures accuracy of part and fixture layouts and reports by verifying proper nominal locations and tolerances;
- Ensures accuracy of part and fixture layouts by utilizing proper layout techniques;
- Identifies and maintains traceability of samples before and after testing;
- Ensures measuring devices are calibrated, identified and located per gage tracking database;
- Conducts capability studies of components and assemblies – including GD&T experience;
- Conducts GR&R studies of inspection fixtures and hand held measuring devices;
- Provides technical support for quality issues, prototype parts and fixture designs;
- Conventional measuring, using a range of hand equipment
- Preparing inspection reports for internal and external use
- Reporting results to relevant departments
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
What are we looking for?
- At least 5 years of hands on experience using Mitutoyo CMM / Cosmos or pcdmis (able to program and operate)
- GD&T applied knowledge, SPC, and metrology
- Experience in layout of parts, fixtures & tooling components to blueprints, engineering specifications and cad data,
- Able to conduct capability studies on selected characteristics on parts
