About the role
Reporting to the Controller, the Intermediate Accountant will perform various accounting and financial tasks. They will support the financial operations and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
What you’ll do:
- Carry-out a wide range of accounts receivable tasks;
- Responsible for managing and processing all sales invoices for a variety of revenue sources and cost recoveries;
- Follow up on overdue accounts within prescribed timelines;
- Maintain notes on collection status and proactively communicate to Business Units on problem accounts;
- Reconcile and record all Ticketmaster settlements and fees;
- Reconcile and record weekly 50/50 and donation revenue for OSEG Foundation;
- Build and nurture positive relationships with internal stakeholders and outside vendors;
- Process credit card transactions, authorizations and analyze statements;
- Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures;
- Support month-end closure including account reconciliations;
- Assist with year end external audits;
- Perform other duties as required.
What’s Needed:
- Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Finance or Accounting;
- 1-2 years of progressive work experience, including some accounts receivable experience;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including: Excel, Word, and Outlook;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains;
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively;
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Highly organized with outstanding administrative and time management skills;
- Working towards CPA designation considered an asset;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Customer service mindset and approach to work;
- Bilingualism in English & French is an asset.
